Lighting the Way for Hope and Healing: WeCo Candle Company Supports The Hive's Survivors Pantry

In South Carolina, the statistics are sobering. More than 42% of women and 29% of men in our state will experience intimate partner violence, sexual assault, or stalking in their lifetimes. Each year, over 30,000 cases of intimate partner violence are reported across South Carolina, with 59 domestic violence homicides in 2024 alone. Behind every statistic is a person—a neighbor, a coworker, a friend—navigating the aftermath of trauma and seeking a path toward healing.

These aren't just numbers. They're members of our community who deserve dignity, support, and hope as they rebuild their lives.

That's why WeCo Candle Company is honored to stand alongside The Hive Community Circle as they open the Survivors Pantry—a revolutionary resource center serving survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking in the South Carolina Midlands.

More Than a Pantry: A Place of Belonging

The Survivors Pantry isn't your typical donation center. It's a thoughtfully designed boutique where survivors can shop with dignity for culturally specific beauty products, household essentials, cleaning supplies, and more. Every detail has been chosen with intention, creating a space that honors each person's worth and humanity.

Dedicated in memory of Brianna—a beloved teacher, sister, daughter, and friend lost to intimate partner violence—the pantry stands as a beacon of hope built by community collaboration. Nearly 25 local businesses came together to transform this vision into reality, proving that when we unite with purpose, we can create spaces of genuine healing.

How WeCo Candle Company Will Light the Way

At WeCo Candle Company, we believe in the transformative power of intentional creation and conscious living. Just as we carefully craft each candle to bring warmth, comfort, and peace into homes, we're committed to supporting initiatives that bring light into the darkest moments of people's lives.

Our mission has always been more than making candles—it's about creating spaces of hope, healing, and restoration. The Survivors Pantry embodies these same values, offering not just material support, but dignity, privacy, and the message that every survivor's story matters.

Through partnerships, donations, and raising awareness, WeCo Candle Company will help ensure that survivors in our community have access to the resources they need while feeling seen, valued, and supported on their healing journey.
